Wellness and Preventive Care in North Surrey
The single most reliable way to help a dog or cat live a longer, more comfortable life is consistent preventive care. Annual visits catch dental, weight, and behavioural change that's easy to miss at home. Year-round parasite prevention is the standard recommendation for the Lower Mainland because mild winters keep parasite activity high.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
What veterinary services do you offer for dogs and cats?
Wellness exams and core or lifestyle vaccines, parasite prevention, microchipping, dental care with full-mouth dental X-ray, soft tissue and orthopaedic surgery, spay and neuter, in-house diagnostics including ultrasound and endoscopy, same-day urgent appointments, medical grooming, end-of-life care, house calls, and pet travel certificates. The full list is on this page with a dedicated subpage for each service.
Do I need a referral to see a veterinarian at Ridgeview?
No. Referrals are not needed for a first appointment at a primary care veterinary clinic. New clients can book directly online or by calling (604) 359-6464. Specialty hospitals (cardiology, oncology, complex orthopaedic surgery) work on a referral basis, and we coordinate that handoff when it's the right next step.
What should I bring to my first vet visit?
Bring any previous medical records and vaccination history, your dog or cat's current food information, and a list of any medications they're taking. Cats are most comfortable in a hard-sided carrier; dogs do best on a leash. The new-client registration form on our website can be completed in advance to save time on arrival.
Are you accepting new dog and cat clients?
Yes. The fastest way to book a first visit is online, or call us at (604) 359-6464. We see clients from Fraser Heights, Guildford, Port Kells, North Surrey, and Walnut Grove in Langley, with free on-site parking at the clinic.
Do you offer same-day appointments for urgent concerns?
Yes. We reserve same-day urgent appointment slots every day we're open. Call ahead at (604) 359-6464 so the team and the exam room are ready when you arrive. After our hours, a 24-hour veterinary facility in the Lower Mainland is your next stop.
What's the difference between urgent care and emergency care?
Urgent care covers concerns that need attention the same day but can wait a few hours, such as sudden vomiting, an obvious limp, or a wound that needs assessment. Emergency care covers immediately life-threatening situations such as severe trauma, suspected toxin ingestion with symptoms, breathing difficulty, or a male cat that cannot urinate. During our open hours we handle both. Outside our hours, a 24-hour veterinary facility is the right call for emergencies.
