Endoscopy lets us look directly inside a dog or cat's airway, stomach, or upper digestive tract without an incision. It is invaluable for retrieving swallowed objects, taking biopsies of the stomach or intestinal lining, and visualizing causes of chronic coughing or vomiting that other tools cannot reach.
The right age depends on species, breed, and size. Many small-breed dogs and cats are spayed or neutered around six months, while large-breed dogs may be scheduled later to support healthy development. We'll review your pet's individual situation at their wellness visit and recommend timing based on current guidelines.
Pre-surgical bloodwork screens organ function, hydration, and clotting ability before anaesthesia. Most routine surgeries are day procedures: drop off in the morning and pick up in the late afternoon. Recovery varies by procedure. Spays and neuters usually involve 10 to 14 days of restricted activity. Soft tissue procedures may require longer recovery depending on complexity. We'll provide detailed written aftercare instructions and schedule a recheck to confirm everything is healing well.
